Inner Paths to Outer Space
“Journey to Alien Worlds through Psychedelics and Other Spiritual Technologies”
Rick Strassman, M.D., Slawek Wojtowicz M.D., Luis Eduardo Luna, Ph.D., and Ede Frecska M.D., Park Street Press, 2008.

In this book are four authors, researchers, and facilitators with a collective 60 years + of experience of navigating these deep states of be-ing. This is a tight smack across the brain of a read for those with an interest of breaking through, how its done, and what to expect when you are there. It covers a pretty far and wide scope of research and it is presented in a nice enjoyable style. When its over you get the sense that this is just the tip of the iceberg; the syncronistic forces behind all these elements are converging and forcing modern global civilization to re-evaluate our place within the world (and beyond).

Firstly the book starts off with Strassman laying down the basics of what psychedelics are and the history of them within human history including their current place in 'western culture'. He also dilineates how they effect the human organism. A nice solid rational foundation to spring off from, he then dives into his DMT research he did in the 90's. He compresses alot of his book DMT the Spirit Molecule-- About the connection of the pineal gland producing the bodies own natural regulator of reality and the mystical schools connection with to the 3rd eye. The whole alien contact/abduction business that so many people experienced that really blew everyones socks off.

Wosjtowicz goes about the Magic Mushroom business:the history and whats it all about....time travel, spacial distortions/enhancement, mystical states of is-ness, experiencing past lives, traumas, healings, etc. Pulling trip reports from erowid and letting people speak the testament of the other worlds from subjective pointalisms.

Ede Frescka goes deep into one of the most misunderstood topics for the industrialized mind 'to get': shamanism. Tossing the net as far as quantum mechanics, shamanic journeying, the extended biopsychosocial paradigm, the direct intutive nonlocal mind, and a whole chapter on “How can shamans talk with plants and animals?”. This is some food for the mind thats raises more questions of is-ness and how everything is assembled in a unified field. My favorite chapter is 'Close Encounters of the Ancient Kind and Spontaneous DMT Release', going back to Hebrew/Sumerian creation myths and super imposing a psychedelic world view on these cosmologies and finding the simularities: what fun! Pulling apart the Nephilim, garden of eden, Anunnaki and such it really makes a lot more sense than what some of these rationalist-materialist UFO types peddle. You know serpent-manitis-grey-aliens pulling you apart back to 6,000 years of human history with a solid record of dmt-alien-contact.

The chapter “Hypnosis, past life regression, meditation and More” is sort of the weakest part of this book, its important there is a section on this because these states are available to us without the use of psychedelics. But it just doesn't go deep enough to cover this related field which could be a whole other book. It goes right back into cave art and depicting alien encounters, abduction stories and pastlife experiences under hypnosis, a couple of paragraphs on oobe's during mediation.

The book wraps it up with 'Preperation for the Journey' by Rick Strassman, an excellent text on the nuts and bolts of how to do it right, folks. Don't be reckless, be prepared! And 'The Sacred Voyage' by Wojtowicz, rapping about science fiction as a path of awakening, Philip K Dick, living in a dream world, Groundhog Day, the Matrix, gospel of John, and the wonderful game of life......
